Frequently Asked Questions
Does changing the description in the order line update the product's description in the product form?
No — the description edited in the order line is specific to that order line only. The product's master description in the product form remains unchanged in Odoo 18.
Does this work for credit notes and debit notes too?
Yes — the separate description column appears on Customer Invoices, Vendor Bills, Credit Notes, and Debit Notes in Odoo 18.
Will this conflict with other modules that customize the order line view?
The module uses standard Odoo view inheritance to add the column. Minor conflicts with other view-customizing modules are possible — contact us for compatibility assistance.
Is this compatible with Odoo Community edition?
Yes — compatible with Odoo 18.0 Community and Enterprise on Odoo.sh and On-Premise. Not available for Odoo Online (SaaS).
