Copic markers are considered to be the premium standard for illustration, which means it is worth testing how large the quality gap is between the expensive and much cheaper sets of Copic markers and the Ohuhu 120 brush pens in terms of illustration rather than repeating the earlier review of their performance in sketching. In this review we are going to compare the brushes in the two types of markers on equal illustration tests in order to evaluate if the price gap between the two markers corresponds to the quality difference between them. This review values honesty of real-life impressions over the first day impression of the product.

Unleash Your Creative Genius With Ohuhu's Marker Set

Thus, today we bring you a marker set that will revolutionize your entire illustration process: Ohuhu 120 Dual Tip Brush Pens. This isn't just another box of markers - this set will provide you with everything that is required for unleashing your creativity and creating vivid images and illustrations using the skills of the finest precision in calligraphy and journaling.

Dual Tips: Unleash Your Inner Artist

First of all, you may notice the unbelievable versatility of these markers. As you see, each brush has two different tips: on one side there is a super sharp 0.4mm fineliner tip which provides crisp lines and precise outlines for calligraphy and detailed drawing of illustrations. On the other hand, you have a brush tip that goes from 1-6mm and allows to create smooth shading and broad strokes. The best part about these pens is the fact that the ink blends beautifully, providing you with endless possibilities.

A Palette of Colors & High-Quality Inks

But it's not just the variety of different tips that make Ohuhu 120 Dual Tip Brush Pens unique. What makes them stand out among other markers is a total of 120 colorful, numbered shades and, most importantly, acid-free, odorless water-based art markers which don't bleed on most common art papers. Yes, it means no mess and no hassle when your work of art starts bleeding through the pages. Additionally, as the ink is water-soluble, you will be able to create beautiful watercolor effects!

Designed for Convenience and Lifelong Enjoyment

Of course, markers do run out sooner or later. However, this set comes with 8 replacement nibs. Thus, your colors will live longer and you will be able to use your markers longer. Moreover, for those people who like working on-the-go, the convenient and portable carrying case is an additional bonus which allows you to keep your markers in order anytime you feel the urge to illustrate or calligraphy.

Is the Ohuhu 120 Set Worth ₹2399.00?

Well, it's time to be realistic. Can this set of Ohuhu 120 dual tip brush pens be worth the price of ₹2399.00? Yes, indeed. It consists of 120 different, numbered shades, has dual tips, high-quality water-based ink that doesn't bleed, and comes with replacement nibs and a convenient carrying case. It means that it's worth the money spent.

A Little Warning

Nevertheless, there is one thing you need to pay attention to. Although the 'no-bleeding' quality works wonderfully on high-quality paper, sometimes, when you are working with low-grade paper, the markers might leave a faint shadow of the ink through the paper. However, it won't happen if you use good quality paper. Sometimes, the caps may be a bit tight when the markers are brand new but loosen up with time.

Who Should and Who Shouldn't Buy This Set?

  • Who should buy: if you're a beginner or experienced calligrapher who wants to try something new, or simply an illustrator who needs a wide range of colors for his/her work and a variety of brush tips for creating amazing pieces of art, then Ohuhu 120 Dual Tip Brush Pens are exactly what you need. They are perfect for beginners because of water-based ink, but they are also durable enough for intermediate and even professional use.
  • Who shouldn't buy: however, if you are looking for alcohol-based markers or want to do some special blending, or if you are only interested in working with the thinnest printer paper, then these aren't your ideal choice.
"The true magic of Ohuhu 120 Dual Tip Brush Pens isn't just in their colors and dual tips, but in the freedom of experimentation and creating new things without wasting your materials and making mistakes. It's an ultimate artist's weapon."

Our Verdict

Despite being tested against the premium Copic markers, the Ohuhu 120 brush pens have shown themselves surprisingly good for such direct comparison, proving that the responsiveness of brush tips can be comparable for most routine illustration jobs although Copic still showed slightly higher results in terms of color blending smoothness. The color saturation proved to be comparable and vivid enough for both products based on all the available evidence, without any noticeable visual quality gap. Copic, however, was way ahead in terms of durability of tips under heavy usage and the possibility to refill ink, which increases its useful life-span greatly as compared to non-refillable Ohuhu design. If you are a hobbyist or a student, the Ohuhu brush pens will definitely suit your needs perfectly. Serious professionals who do a lot of illustrations every day should consider the Copic marker's refillability advantage.
