The plimpton Portable CarPlay screen brings wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto to any vehicle, giving you quick access to navigation, contacts, music, and more without taking your focus off the road. Featuring a 7-inch Full HD IPS touchscreen, it stays clear and easy to read even in bright sunlight, and its updated interface includes handy options like driving position switching, a touchscreen off button, and day/night mode switching. Setup is simple since there's no need to disassemble your dashboard—just mount the screen using the included 3M adhesive base, making it suitable for cars, SUVs, and trucks alike. Once connected, you can mirror live GPS maps from your smartphone directly onto the CarPlay display, search destinations, and send routes instantly, though it's worth noting that certain apps like Uber or Zomato aren't currently supported through Android Auto or CarPlay. For audio, the Driveplay system offers multiple output choices including Bluetooth streaming, AUX, FM transmission (receive-only), and built-in speakers, delivering flexible stereo sound for music and calls. The screen also supports both iOS and Android mirroring, letting you view and control your phone's apps right from the display while driving.

Top Customer Reviews
I've been using the Plimpton screen in my Volkswagen Polo, and overall it's been a great upgrade. The display is crisp, the touch response is smooth, and Wireless Apple CarPlay connects quickly. The sound quality is good, and the interface is easy to use. It has given my car a much more premium and modern feel. The only small downside is that the screen is a little reflective in direct sunlight, so you may notice some glare during the day. Apart from that, everything works as expected and the overall experience has been excellent.Considering the price, features, and performance, it's definitely worth the money. I'm satisfied with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quality car infotainment system.
I installed this on my Ford Figo Freestyle 2019 with the original Ford SYNC system as it doesn't support online google maps. The installation was simple and didn't require changing my factory stereo. Wireless Android Auto connected quickly with my vivo phone, and Google Maps, calls, and music work smoothly. The 7-inch IPS display is bright and responsive even during the day.The device offers multiple audio options (Bluetooth, FM, AUX, and built-in speaker). Within android auto music with bluetooth works very well but when we play the content in memory card bluetooth won't work but the FM transmitter worked surprisingly well and provided clear audio than AUX IN. The USB-C power input is convenient and we can even provide power supply with a quality USB to type-C cable instead of the one given with the product, and the overall build quality feels good for the price.Pros:Fast Wireless Android Auto connectionBright and responsive touchscreenEasy plug-and-play installationMultiple audio output optionsGood value for moneyCons:A compatible 2.5 mm AV adapter is required if you want to connect an external camera.Overall, if you want to add Wireless Android Auto and CarPlay to an older car without replacing the factory stereo, this is a very good product and worth the money
I recently purchased the Plimpton L1 and I’m quite satisfied with it so far. The display quality is good, and the touchscreen is decent and responsive for everyday use. The device feels easy to use and the overall experience has been good. For the price, I think it’s a good option and does what it is supposed to do. Overall, happy with the purchase.
This is exactly what i wanted, works great. I have Tiago with Harman music player, so didn't want to replace anything with lower sound quality. Market is flooded with cheap Chinese players, didn't want to replace Harman with that. My options were the really expensive car stereos or a screen something like this. Although this is similar cheap Chinese option, but it doesn't replace my Harman. So i get to keep the amazing sound quality of stock music player and get android auto to complement that.Coming to the product, the quality is ok, with a few issues evident, but there aren't any other options available and given the price range, these can be ignored. (to mention a few, the screen is flush with the top glass in on side and slight visible gap on the other, the Sticky pad on the stand doesn't really stock on dashboard). I had returned the first unit i received due to this, but the replacement had the same issue but less prominent so i kept that one.The pairing is straightforward and connection takes a few seconds after initial setup. The touch is responsive too, with no noticeable lag. Installation was a little tricky, i cleaned the dash and stick the gel pad given in box, but it came out right away. I had some 3M tape, used that and it didn't came out even with force (the stand was a little misaligned and i tried to take it off to straighten it but it wouldn't). So, if you order this, add a 3M tape also in cart. There is an AUX cable, Power adaptor in the box, you can also use your existing phone charger in your car, mine worked without any issue. Sound output can be through AUX, FM transmitter or inbuilt speaker. You can also use the output to phone and pair phone with car in which case you would be able to use the car stereo. I didn't use the AUX or inbuilt speaker.Function wise, it does the job fairly good, connects quickly and installation is fairly simple. The screen is reflective and you need to align it in such way that you get least glare. Its sometimes hardly visible during day time if there is lots of light from behind due to glare. Also the unit came off from stand twice during my recent trip on bumpy road, again had to use double sided tape to secure it. There should have been a locking mechanism to avoid this but there is not. There is screen mirror function too, which again i didn't use. There are a few other options to change the theme to dark or adjust brightness. You can connect back camera to the screen.Overall, this is a basic AA/Carplay unit with its share of cons, but at this price point and available options, they aren't a dealbreaker. There are multiple options outside india, with much better quality, much more functionality and slightly greater price, but they are not available here. So considering this, its a good deal at the moment.
Small CarPlay display, but honestly one of the best upgrades for my car.Easy to install, smooth touch response, good sound quality, and perfect for maps, calls & music without changing the whole infotainment system. The compact size fits neatly on the dashboard and fulfills exactly what I needed for daily drives — wireless Apple CarPlay, clean display, and hassle-free connectivity.Budget-friendly, useful, and totally worth it for older cars
The Volvo V40 has an exceptional interior and a solid drive, but the factory Sensus infotainment system is severely dated without native Apple CarPlay support. After researching expensive retrofit decoder boxes that require tearing apart the floating center console, I opted for the Plimpton portable screen instead—and it has completely transformed my daily drive.Pros:Flawless Wireless Connectivity: Wireless Apple CarPlay connects within 10–15 seconds of starting the ignition. Google Maps, Waze, and Spotify load seamlessly with practically zero latency.Preserves the Original Cabin: Installing a standalone unit meant zero wire-splicing or dash disassembly, keeping the original Volvo interior completely stock.Sharp, Glare-Resistant Display: The screen is responsive to touch, bright enough to stay legible under direct sunlight, and large enough to navigate comfortably without obstructing the windshield view.Clean Audio Integration: Routing audio through the car's speakers (via AUX / FM transmitter) works without interference, delivering clean audio for calls and music streaming.Siri Integration: Hands-free voice commands make calling and navigation easy and distraction-free on the road.Final Verdict:If you drive a Volvo V40 (or any vehicle stuck with an older infotainment system) and don't want the headache or expense of taking apart your dashboard, the Plimpton unit is worth every penny. It gives you all the modern convenience of Apple CarPlay at a fraction of the cost. Highly recommended!
Product is very good, but they have charged for back camera which is 3rd class. I didn't like the camera they have sent along with the device.
Delivery experience:I had originally received an used/open product, still working and not defective, just the seals were open and a few usage scratches on the screen guard. Amazon refused to help me and asked to contact the seller. But the seller was very responsive and sent me a replacement from their end. So, kudos to the seller.Product:The device has completely given my old car a transformation in terms of both functionality and looks inside the cabin. For this price? It's an absolute steal !! And no need to replace the old headunit/stereo of the car.Installation:Pretty easy installation, just like a phone mount. Some people in other reviews said the provided double side sticker is not as powerful but it was pretty powerful for me. Because I tried to remove it as I had left a screw loose in the bottom which helps with the 360 rotation. I had to visit an accessory shop nearby to remove the sticker, tighten the screw and stick back using the same sticker. It still works perfectly fine for me even after reusing it.So, remember to tighten the screw on the bottom after positioning it before sticking on your dashboard !!Device functionality and connections :As for the device itself, it starts up really quick and connects to the phone all within 5-10 secs max. Android Auto connects everytime automatically without issue or lag. Touch screen works really well. The size also fits perfectly for my car. Everything works as advertised. The wide range of connectivity options is pretty useful.I have an old Pioneer head unit/stereo without bluetooth in my car (attached photo taken from above) and since I installed it very close to it, I was not able to use the Bluetooth adapter that I have been using for many years. So, I first connected using the FM transmission option. But since they were so close to each other whenever I tried to adjust the audio on the Pioneer unit, there was frequency interruption causing static sounds. So, I have now used the aux cable to connect it. And I have also used the Pioneer's USB port to power the Plimpton device, so all the wirey mess is hidden and provides a clean look.It says that the power cable they provided is also the FM transmitter, but I did not use it first and used my portronics charger. I left one provided back at home and it worked perfectly fine apart from those random static noises.Turns on and off with the car, so no worries about battery drainage as well.Cons:Only thing I feel as a con is the reflective surfaces of the screen. But you can adjust the angle in a way that it doesn't reflect much anymore. It worked for me.For a product at this price range, this is much more than one could expect.I would highly recommend this to anyone with an old car without touchscreen or a car with touch screen but not Android Auto or CarPlay. Go for it ! You also get upto 720 days extended warranty and lifetime product support.
