YES it mounts by clamp at a single point. Therefore it WILL seem a bit wobbly when clamped to a wobbly desk or table.That is the nature of using a clamp mount version. Period.This lamp came WELL packaged, enough to impress me, and that takes a lot.I had just mounted a couple clamp mount power strips on my hobby benches and those simply kind of sucked.This clamp came with padding for both sides of the clamping mechanism, which others do not.The bar through the screw to close clamp is large enough to use easily while leaning over the desk (the others were horrible).When I went to mount this lamp at back of table and found the clamp is solidly attached to the lamp, at first I was frustrated. It is trickier to mount the whole unit than just the clamp and then set lamp post into clamp part.BUT, by being built together, it is MUCH sturdier from an engineering perspective, and hence end user experience USING after installation.Articulated joints are VERY solid and have high level of friction. You have to WANT to adjust the angles.It will NOT change by accident or nudging.The light can get incredibly bright. Blinding if looking right at it. Love the different color temps available.At first I did not care for separate power buttons for the center bar versus outer bars. Then after using itduring a project build, I found I LOVED that aspect as well. Sometimes I don't need or want the width of the bench lit. Other times I NEED it so.This lamp replaced a desk top light and 2 floor standing lights, and provides MUCH better lighting than those 3 combined, so lots of desk AND floor spaced cleared up.I read other reviews that this lamp is not worth $100 price.I clearly disagree. It fits a need, and does so spectacularly well through very thoughtful design and engineering.If manufacturer reads this, I DO recommend a wider top portion of the clamp base to improve lateral stability a bit.Definitely going to buy another for my other bench, which already has 2 articulated ring lamps.

This is a great light. I do not need it to throw light down onto my desk in front of my monitors. What I really liked about it when I was looking at it, was it's ability to be able to throw light to the ceiling, in what the Mfg is calling "Atmospheric Lighting". This is ideal soft lighting with no shadows.As it turns out, at night, I usually stream movies to my computer, when it is the configuration for "Atmospheric Lighting", and I also turn on the bottom light. The bottom light creates great backlighting of the monitor while I am watching a movie, which definitely relieves eye strain. This was an unexpected bonus.Added to all of the above is the versatility of the remote or actual buttons on the unit. You can both dim and change lighting color either in pre-set "steps" by clicking the buttons on either the remote or lamp itself, or you can press and hold, and the lights will dim/brighten and change colors in the same manner as a dimmer switch on the wall. You can stop at any desired brightness or color.I do wish it had a base rather than a clamp, but that was not a dealbreaker for me. Although I did not mention it, but the ability to move the different "arms" of the light, make it very versatiile. I have it set in one position, but the movement of the arms/lightheads and all the different pivots on the lamp are done very well, easy to move and adjust, yet they stay firmly in place once adjusted.Additionally, for clarification, I am reviewing the larger 36W model.

I’m not someone who reviews everything I buy, but this light needs to be commended for its exceptional size and lighting color options. I got the Plus model and it’s more than I could have dreamed of.I have a MASSIVE desk. I apologize for the chaotic nature of my desk in the photo, but you can see that it sheds light on the entire desk. I work there doing wood burned art, paintings, drawings and all kinds of things, and the lighting options to dim, brighten, change coolness, and turn some sections off is VITAL for me to not get a headache or get too hot from sitting by it for an entire day’s work.The clamp was not ideal for the lip size of my desk (shallow lip). In my case, I wedged in between the desk and wall, and it’s sturdy. You could also put a piece of wood on each side of the clamp so there’s more surface area if needed. I’d highly recommend this lamp. As long as it lasts, it’s solving all my needs and desires.

This lamp was great when it worked. Today, I noticed my lamp was drooped. Upon close inspection, I noticed two seperate cracks at the hinged joints. They need to use better materials at the hinged joints. Lamp is too heavy to support its own wait.Update: I reached out to the seller about my issue with the lamp. They promptly sent me a replacement desk lamp. I would definitely recommend this desk lamp. They stand behind their product. Thank You.

Nice bright highly adjustable lamp. However it seems like the build quality isn’t great at the base of the lamp. Use it to light up my 3D printer desk. Came back into the room one day to see it snapped off the base and is lying on the floor.
