I recently added the HP F6V97AA#ACJ External USB DVD-RW Drive to my tech toolkit, and it has been a fantastic addition. This drive combines convenience, functionality, and solid performance, making it a valuable accessory for both work and personal use. Here’s why I highly recommend it:Key Features:Plug-and-Play Simplicity: The drive is incredibly easy to set up. I simply connected it to my laptop’s USB port, and it was ready to use immediately. The smooth finish and minimalist look make it an attractive addition to my desk setup.Reliable Performance: In terms of performance, the drive is consistently reliable. It reads and writes discs quickly and quietly. I haven’t encountered any errors or issues during use, and it handles various tasks without any hiccups.USB-Powered Convenience: The drive is powered via USB, eliminating the need for an additional power supply. This is a major plus, especially for users who want a clean and clutter-free setup. Nice one
Good
I’ve has this for about a week. It was used it to view some DVDs and copy large video files from DVD to the laptop. Worked pretty well in both cases. It’s easy to use, and you just need to connect it to your laptop to begin using it. Reading and copying were pretty smooth. There were cheaper non brand alternatives but I hope paying extra for a branded one pays off for my collection of DVDs.
so far its good and nice speed
You should know this, that this review is coming from an Apple sheep. And even though I consider Apple’s SuperDrive the best looking and well built (with materials like aluminum) out of all the external optical drives I’ve scoured the internet for. Side note: I still have a little regret not choosing SuperDrive of HP DVD Drive. HP’s offering is really good in that, it’s inexpensive and gets the job done, quick. You just plug the external drive in to your computer via USB type A connector, pop a CD in and wait for the magic to happen; it’s as simple as that. It’s a plug and play drive (you don’t need any drivers). There still are some drawbacks (I wouldn’t be too worried about these) of these HP drives; it is made of plastic and feels cheap in the hand. It has a sliding tray mechanism, which makes the whole drive rather fragile since the slightest of force can break it beyond repair and it’s made by HP. I have no problems with the company, but they just aren’t known for manufacturing good laptops, Lenovo, Dell and ASUS take the lead; that’s the reason why I was a bit skeptical about this purchase (But it turned out great! So, that’s good). Just to make it clear, I absolutely recommended this (for people worried about burning a hole in their pockets) and put it in context with this statement coming from an Apple sheep owning a MacBook Air who still feels a little bit guilty about not going for SuperDrive, you should purchase this external optical drive by HP (at around $23 or INR 1,500) without a second thought. I stand by this product a 100%
It will not work when connected to TV. The statement in describing the product is wrong to this extent.
Works efficiently.Only for Windows 10/11 & not for apple macOS.
